The Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC), has denied claims by. Professor Nkandu Luo that it summoned and interogated late president Edgar Lungu’s son, Dalitso.
On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, Lungu alleged that the Commission had summoned Dalitso for questioning despite being in a state of mourning.
In a statement issued in Lusaka on Thursday, DEC Public Relations Officer, Allan Tamba expressed regrets with such reports which had circulated on various media platforms.
“Members of the public may wish to note that Mr. Dalitso Lungu has not been summoned or interviewed by the Commission in the period mentioned by Nkandu Luo,” Tamba said.
Tamba said such claims by Luo were contemptuous, malicious and misleading.

“On the other hand, contrary to information peddled by some unscrupulous people, we wish to clarify that Passports for Dalitso Lungu, Chiyeso Lungu, Tasila Lungu and the former First Lady, Esther Lungu, were never seized as a Bond condition,” he added.
Tamba revealed that the Commission had since had occasion to interact with Dalitso Lungu’s Lawyer who has categorically distanced himself from Luo’s claims.
