The Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) and the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA), have launched a specialised training aimed at equipping officers with the knowledge and skills required to combat economic and financial crimes.

The training has been made possible through the support of DEC partners, the Wildlife Crime Prevention (WCP).

The speacialised training was launched at NIPA in Lusaka on Monday by DEC Director General, Nason Banda, and NIPA Executive Director, Professor Jacob Malungo.

Speaking during the official launch of the training, Banda, reiterated the organisation’s commitment to combating transnational organised crimes by facilitating continuous professional training and development of officers.

“As law enforcement officers, we must stay one step ahead. That means, understanding how virtual asset markets work, recognising red flags in blockchain transactions, collaborating across borders, and applying both legal and technical tools to track, investigate, and disrupt criminal activities” he said.

It falls squarely under our fundamental pillars – Research, Innovation and Collaborations”, he added.
