Police in Mufulira have arrested five suspects in connection with the vandalism and theft of ZESCO armoured electricity cables.

Copperbelt Police Commissioner, Pathias Siandenge, confirmed the arrests in a statement on Thursday, saying the suspects were caught after a concerned member of the public spotted individuals burning suspected ZESCO cables at Nanduwa Cemetery.

Following the tip-off, police intercepted a Toyota Spacio vehicle carrying the suspects.
