A 29-year-old motorcyclist has died on the spot after crashing into a pedestrian along the Mwinilunga–Kanongesha road near Kaseliseli junction.
North-Western Province Police Commanding officer, Brighton Siwale, identified the deceased as Bruntwell Manjomba of Kazeya Village in Mwinilunga, who sustained fatal head injuries in the accident.
Siwale said Manjomba was riding an unregistered Boxer Bajaj motorcycle, which was not found at the scene of the accident.

Also injured in the incident was Reagan Samunyau, 32, of Mudanyama area, who sustained a deep cut above his left eye, injuries to his left leg, bruises on both legs, and general body pain.
“The accident occurred when the rider, travelling from west to east, attempted to turn right at high speed, lost control, and struck a pedestrian who was walking off the road in the opposite direction,” Siwale explained.
Manjomba’s body has since been deposited in the Mwinilunga District Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem, while Samunyau is admitted at the same hospital for treatment.
Police have launched investigations and indicated that the rider was at fault due to excessive speed and loss of control.
