Power Dynamos Football Club has been found guilty of failure to manage the crowd for their Week 11 home fixture against Green Buffaloes and has been banned from admitting fans for a straight five home matches.

Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) communications manager Sydney Mungala said in a media statement on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, that the disciplinary committee has sanctioned Power Dynamos.

In its verdict, the Disciplinary Committee has fined Power Dynamos K50, 000 for being in breach of Article 67.1 of the Disciplinary Code.

During their Week 11 match at Arthur Davies Stadium, a section of fans identified as Power Dynamos disrupted the match by pelting missiles on the pitch which caused a brief stoppage of the game.

The Disciplinary Committee considered the referees’ report, written submissions and viewing pictures as part of the evidence submitted.

“With all these facts and evidence before the committee, the committee came to the conclusion that as of Article 67.1, the first respondent was guilty as charged,” reads the verdict in part.

The committee added that the committee having established the guilty verdict on the 2nd respondent pronounces the following that the 1st respondent is fined K50, 000.

In terms of Article 67, Arthur Davies Stadium is closed to spectators for the next five Super League home matches and the 1st respondent to pay within seven days of receipt of this verdict.

However, Power Dynamos have a right to appeal within 72 hours of receiving the verdict.
