In celebration of Mother’s Day 2025, Yango Ride, part of the global tech company Yango Group, paid tribute to the mothers of its partner drivers in Zambia with a heartfelt gesture of appreciation.
Recognizing the vital role that mothers play, not only in their families but also as supporters and inspirations to their children, Yango gifted the mothers of several partner drivers with spa vouchers from Juvenex Spa and grocery shopping vouchers to ease their day-to-day responsibilities.
These partner drivers were selected based on their performance for the month of April and the number of positive reviews and star ratings received from passengers.
A few of these mothers spent Mother’s Day being pampered at Juvenex Spa, enjoying wellness treatments designed to honour their strength and sacrifices.
Kabanda Chewe, Country Head for Yango Zambia, emphasized the importance of celebrating the often-unsung heroes behind the successful partner drivers:
“At Yango, we believe in honouring the women who keep both their families and our industry moving. Mothers are pillars of strength, and today we celebrate their sacrifices, love, and hard work. It’s important to create a culture where women, especially mothers, are empowered and appreciated.”

One of the mothers, Lucy Shebele, mother to Yango partner driver Benson Chanda, shared her joy after receiving the spa treatment:
“I’m the proud mother of Benson Chanda who drives on Yango. I’m so grateful to be here today receiving such wonderful care, being pampered and appreciated in this way is truly special.
It was a complete surprise and has made this Mother’s Day unforgettable for me. I’m incredibly proud of my son and I continue to encourage him to work hard and achieve all his dreams. This gesture means so much to us both.”
Yango continues to support its partner drivers through various initiatives, and this Mother’s Day celebration was another example of the company’s commitment to being supportive and appreciative.
By honouring the mothers of its partner drivers, Yango acknowledged the women who have played an essential role in shaping, encouraging, and supporting the individuals behind the wheel. It was a meaningful gesture to show gratitude to those who helped the partner drivers become who they are today.
Yango continues to grow its presence in Zambia not just through its ride-hailing services, but also by actively investing in the well-being and growth of its partner community. Through initiatives such as free insurance coverage, educational programs, and mentorship opportunities.
Most recently, the Yango SuperApp was upgraded with real-time traffic scoring—an enhancement designed to offer users greater convenience and efficiency during their journeys.
