The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and Zambia Airports Corporation Limited (ZACL) have announced that Zambia will host the African Flight Procedures Programme (AFPP) this month in Lusaka.

According to CAA Public Relations Manager, Sepiso Zimba, the event is expected to bring together Director Generals and technical aviation experts from 28 African countries.

Zimba said in a statement issued in Lusaka on Monday that the meeting was a technical forum focused on the development and implementation of standardised flight procedures, which are essential for ensuring the safety of passengers, crew, and aircraft.

She noted that the AFPP is a critical initiative aimed at enhancing aviation safety and efficiency in Africa, while promoting harmonised Air Navigation Services across the continent.

“It also fosters capacity building and technical excellence among member states and enhances the implementation of standardised flight procedures, in line with International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) standards,” Zimba stated.
