Police in Kasumbalesa begin manhunt for Congolese national who allegedly defiled 14 years old girl

Police has launched a manhunt for Congolese national for allegedly repeatedly defiling a 14-year-old girl of Kasumbalesa.

Kasumbalesa Police Station received a report that a school girl was defiled by a person she identified as Kezide aged 18-years, a Congolese national who allegedly caused her to sustain a painful vagina.

Brief facts of the matter are that on May 11, 2025 at around 20:00 hours the victim told her grandmother Nsompo Kaloza that she wanted to go and get a K5 from her neighbour who got a drink from her.

In a statement on Sunday, Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer, Pathias Siandenge, said the victim on her way home reportedly met the suspect who is said to be the boyfriend to the victim who took her to a room at a certain bar where he works and had carnal knowledge of her

“The victim stayed with the suspect for two days in a room at the Bar and only went back home on May 13, 2025 around 05:00 hours and it is upon her return to her guardian home that the said guardian reported the matter to the Police,” he said.

Siandenge further narrates that the victim was later issued with a medical report form and that a docket has since been opened and no arrest made yet.
